E-bikes and e-scooters ride differently from regular bicycles — more speed, more torque, and a different balance point. A few habits and checks before you head out make a real difference in how safely you ride.
Know Your Local Rules
Speed limits, minimum riding age, and where you're allowed to ride (bike lane, road, sidewalk) vary by country and even by city. Many of our e-bikes are StVZO or EU COC certified for road use — check your product page and local regulations before your first ride, especially if you're new to e-mobility.
Pre-Ride Checks
Before every ride, especially the first few weeks with a new bike or scooter, check that your brakes engage firmly, your tires are properly inflated, and your battery is charged. A quick 30-second check catches most issues before they become a problem on the road.
Understand Your Motor's Power
E-bikes and e-scooters accelerate faster than a traditional bicycle, particularly off the line. Get familiar with your throttle or pedal-assist response in a quiet, open area before riding in traffic — sudden acceleration in a crowded space is one of the most common causes of new-rider incidents.
Braking Distance
Higher speeds mean longer stopping distances. Leave more space than you think you need between yourself and the vehicle or rider ahead, especially in wet conditions where braking distance increases significantly.
Visibility Matters
Use your lights, even during the day in low-visibility conditions, and wear reflective or bright clothing when riding at dusk or night. Being seen early gives drivers and other riders more time to react.
Battery Safety
Charge your battery with the charger provided, avoid extreme temperatures during charging, and don't leave a battery charging unattended overnight. Following the manufacturer's charging guidance also protects your warranty coverage.
See our Warranty page for battery care guidance, and browse Riding Gear for helmets, gloves, and lights.
